Video Journalist Ruud Elmendorp being interviewed by V.Luckie in Nairobi in 2009 on meeting Kony in 2006 - Copyright Victoria A C Luckie MA
Video Journalist and Rory Peck Trust Award Winner Ruud Elmendorp.
Clip from a much longer interview I originally did for my 2009 documentary and background for my City University International Journalism MA dissertation research. I studied broadcast skills and specialised in conflict at City but as you can see from the other articles and pictures under the journalism and photojournalism section of my site I was a mature student and had worked in Kenya, Uganda and elsewhere in Africa since the late'90's.
Apologies for any background noise in this clip. The interview was conducted in the lobby of Nairobi's Panafric Hotel.
For this documentary (as yet unbroadcast as the BBC weren't interested at the time. Though I did subsequently hear what appear to be some clips my / very similar wild track on other things I forget the reports concerned) I also interviewed many others including Archbishop Odama, Chief Khadi of Gulu Khalil Magara, survivors and one of Joseph Kony's wives. Some of which required double translation in the field for accuracy.
